Suicidal thoughts. Physical abuse. Self-Harm. Hopelessness. Five teenagers, Drew, Zoe, Jordan, Lilly, and Michael, all strangers, wake up in a circus tent. After meeting the whimsical ringleader, R.L, they are marked with a tattoo symbolizing the circus act they were meant to master.

See how their lives are forever changed by a cloud of glittery red smoke, a bright smile, and three simple words: “Welcome to Cirque.”

Jaiden, Stella, Adam, Eli, and Laura had no idea either. One minute Jaiden was worried about a date, Stella was babysitting, Eli was running away from Adam, Laura was sneaking out – and the next, they were meeting R.L., the ringleader of Cirque.

With the guidance of R.L. and their trainers, they become a human cannonball, acrobats, an equestrian, a clown, and most importantly – Shadow Chasers.

What would YOU do if…

Everyone around you disappeared and suddenly you were in a circus?

A beam of moonlight tattooed your arm with a circus act you are meant to master?

You and four strangers were brought together to defeat The Shadows?

I wrote the poems in this book between the ages of seventeen and twenty-five. A peek behind the curtain, these words hold pain, loneliness, unrequited love, and hope. So much hope.

My dream is that you find yourself among the pages. That you find words you've been searching for. That you feel understood and seen.

God is speaking to us but sometimes we need someone else to help us realize it. My prayer is that this journal serves that purpose for you. Maybe it will help you hear God’s voice for the first time, or the first time in a long time. Or maybe it will just help guide you in a season where you have to be more intentional with listening. The majority of this journal is blank pages for you to write what God is revealing to you, questions that you have for Him, things you’re grateful for, and more.

One of the best ways to hear God speak is to ask Him questions and write down the first thoughts that come to your mind. I call them “God thoughts.” Nine times out of ten, the first thing we think after asking God a question is His answer. In this journal, you’ll find a list of 55 questions to ask God when you need help hearing Him.
